Experts find exposed base of 530,098 clients of airline Utair

MOSCOW, Aug 26 (PRIME) -- A database of 530,098 clients of Russian airline Utair has been exposed on the Internet, information leak researcher DLBI’s founder Ashot Oganesyan told PRIME on Wednesday.

Server MongoDB, belonging to Utair Digital, an IT department of the airline, was in open access approximately from January 21 till March 21, 2019, and was closed after DLBI issued a warning, Oganesyan said.

“Yesterday DLBI detected a dump of its data with 530,098 lines on transactions of the airline’s passengers, including names and surnames in Russian and in Latin characters, passport number, address, date of birth, gender, phone, e-mail, loyalty program account, accumulated miles, and the loyalty program level in open access on an English-speaking forum,” the expert said.

“In August 2019, the base was offered for sale, and now it’s uploaded in open access and ready for download. It mostly contains, probably, Russian users, since the airline services chiefly the routes with at least the point of departure or arrival in our country.”
